Flute Fest 2016 will be a flute-filled day with something for everyone. Jonathan Keeble, Professor of Flute at the University of Illinois – Urbana/Champaign, will be our guest artist on April 9 at Plymouth Congregational Church. He will play a recital, offer a masterclass, and present a flute ensemble workshop. We will present Midwest flutists performances, the Young Artist and Laudie Porter Competitions, Rising Stars Festival, Flute Choir, various workshops, and – new this year – we will also hear from several of our home-grown flute ensembles. The day will also include a world premiere of a flute quartet commissioned by UMFA and written by local composer and UMFA member Barbara A. K. Holm.
