Upper Midwest Flute Association (UMFA) is a flute organization for flutists of all ages, levels and skills. It is based in the Twin Cities and includes members from all regions in the Upper Midwest.

  • Did you know that UMFA has a need-based scholarship program?  This program, in accordance with UMFA’s Mission Statement is intended for flute students of any age who are experiencing financial barriers to their musical education.  Both the student and their teacher must be current UMFA members to be eligible.  
  • We are still looking to fill a few board and committee positions (Director of Communications, Marathon Committee, and NFA 2017 Local Planning Committee). If you would like to be more involved in our organization, or if you would like details about these positions and others, please contact our President, Trudi Anderson, at president@umfaflutes.org.
