The UMFA Flute Choir Showcase is an annual event providing a performance opportunity for flutists of all levels, from beginners to professionals. It features the Honors Flute Choir (an auditioned group of outstanding junior and senior high school students), the Suzuki flute choir (a group which combines beginner, intermediate, and advanced students), and local adult flute choirs.
The 2015 Flute Choir Showcase will take place on Saturday, February 28th, at Richfield United Methodist Church, 5835 Lyndale Ave S.
Applications for the Honors Flute Choir are due by December 10th, 2014. Auditions will take place on January 10, 2015, and rehearsals will occur on February 7th and 14th from 2:00-4:00 pm at Richfield United Methodist Church.
This year, the Suzuki Flute Choir will be premiering new flute choir works resulting from a Suzuki Flute Choir Composer Quest proposed by the Minnesota Suzuki Flute Teachers Association.
